The fuel level sensor EPSILON ES (ES-2, ES-4) is a sensor designed for accurate measurement of fuel level in reservoirs and tanks of vehicles. The sensor can be used as part of control systems for fuel consumption (control of discharges and refills) and satellite systems of GPS monitoring of transport.

How it works:

Probe sensor,  having been immersed in fuel, functions as a variable capacitor which capacity is linearly dependent on the level of fuel filling.

The measuring head of the sensor performs a linear transformation capacity of the probe into a digital fuel level.

Processing the digital data from the measurement results averaging temperatures of the fuel tank and delivery of data in a standardized protocol EDE bus RS-485 or RS-232 or analog signal depending on the model.

 Data about the fuel level may be issued in the form of 10 -, 12-or 16-bit value temperature data in the form of 8-bit values.

Specifications:

  • Valid values for the electrical conductivity of a controlled fuel is no more than 10 to the minus 8th degrees S / m (allows measurements of fuel with high electrical conductivity)
  • Limit working temperature range: -40 … +75 °C
  • Explosion-proof sensor is performed by application:
  • intrinsically safe measuring circuit with predetermined values of voltage, inductance, capacitance and resistance;
  • multilevel protection of interface circuits;
  • the metal shell of the measuring head with a proper degree of protection (IP-68 on GOST 14254);
  • the compound filling of the shell of the measuring head
  • The height of the measuring head over the surface of the tank, including the landing flange,  is not more than 29 mm
  • The weight of the sensor is not more than 250 grams
